Laura Dance Festival
Festival Dates: - The Festival is a biennial event with the next event scheduled for June 2015.
From Cairns travelling north, the distance to the Festival site is approximately 300kms. Vvehicle accessibility to the Festival has never been easier with a bitumen road and new bridge into Laura underway and will be completed early 2012.

Facilities at the Festival Site
Patrons attending the Festival need to be self-sufficient with their own camping equipment. There is no other accommodation available at the site.
There will be a sufficient amount of toilet & shower facilities available at the Site.
We recommend that people bring their own cooking facilities with them as there will be a strictly limited amount of fire-pits available throughout the site.
Bore Water taps will be available throughout the site. We recommend that water be boiled before drinking. Bottled Water can be purchased on-site or bring-your-own. A limited amount of take-away food stalls will also be operating at the Festival.
Individual Rock Art Tours to sites, Quinkan Galleries and Giant Horse/ Mushroom Rock may be booked as usual through the Cultural Centre prior to, during and after the Festival. These tours can be booked at any time leading up to the Festival on 07 40603457 or email email@example.com
There are NO EFTPOS facilities available at the festival grounds.
Facilities & Services in Laura
Laura, located 14km north of the Festival site has camping & limited room accommodation available.
A range of general groceries supplies, EFTPOS facilities and fuels are available from either the Laura General Store or the Laura Roadhouse. There is also a Health Clinic and Hotel in Laura. A new motel has also opened in Laura. See services and facilities page.
We highly recommend a visit to the Quinkan & Regional Cultural Centre, a world-class Interpretation Centre of Aboriginal Culture and the European heritage of Cape York (opened from 8.30am until 5.00pm every day over the Festival). Tours of the famous Quinkan Rock Art sites can also be booked through the Quinkan Centre.
